DSE 2015: Cima NanoTech Highlights SANTE® Nanoparticle Technology-Enabled 42-Inch Pro-Cap Interactive Digital Signage

Cima NanoTech, a leading smart materials manufacturer of next-generation transparent conductors, is showcasing an ultra responsive 42-inch projected capacitive (pro-cap) interactive digital signage, enabled by the company’s highly conductive SANTE® FS200, at DSE 2015. The demo was built with Cima NanoTech’s touch module in collaboration with Amdox digital signage manufacturer, Amdolla Group, and solutions partner, TouchMedia Pte Ltd; all 3 companies will be at DSE 2015.

To fully demonstrate the difference that SANTE® nanoparticle technology makes for pro-cap interactive digital signage, the 42-inch interactive digital signage demo shows the world’s first post-arrival tourism software, a version of which was launched at the new Singapore Visitor Centre last month. This innovative and user-friendly software allows visitors to select their desired attractions and events to create, print and e-mail customised maps and itineraries. A version of this unique solution created by TouchMedia Pte Ltd, is on show, and combined with the Amdox interactive digital signage from Amdolla Group, elevates the experience of using an interactive digital signage by providing faster response of up to 6 milliseconds and true multi-touch capabilities.

Cima NanoTech’s goal is to accelerate the adoption of pro-cap technology in large format touch screens by providing SANTE® conductive material in various cost-effective and easy-to-integrate formats. While the incumbent technology for interactive digital signage today is infrared (IR) light, industry players are shifting to pro-cap for its better performance, improved aesthetics and ease of maintenance.

Better Performance | Pro-cap touch systems enable accurate multi-touch, multi-gesture, multi-user interactions. Pro-cap is also unaffected by light interferences from the surrounding and can be used both indoors and outdoors, and this is challenging for IR.

Improved Product Design & Aesthetics | IR requires the adding of a frame to the top of an LCD display, resulting in a raised bezel and sunk-in touch display. Pro-cap sensors are placed under the cover glass, providing a flush touch display that looks sleek and modern. The flexibility of SANTE® conductive materials also enables narrow bezel of less than 20mm across all screen sizes, allowing for a larger touch display area.

Ease of Maintenance | Pro-cap touch screens are also water and dust resistant and can be wiped clean easily. Maintenance is more of a hassle with IR as dust and dirt can be trapped under the frame.

“Our hardware, software and system partners have been invaluable in speeding up the market adoption of SANTE® conductive materials in large format, pro-cap touch screens,” said Jon Brodd, Chief Executive Officer at Cima NanoTech. “We are delighted to finally be able to offer our customers with affordable and accessible solutions for pro-cap interactive digital signage, thus allowing them to strengthen their competitive advantage in the industry.”

Cima NanoTech’s SANTE® nanoparticle technology is scalable to larger screen sizes of up to 104-inch, making it suitable for interactive whiteboards, video walls, interactive table tops, touch-enabled vending machines and interactive kiosks. These applications are ideal for providing information in retail, restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, healthcare, education and corporate settings.

The performance of Cima NanoTech’s SANTE® conductive materials can be evaluated at DSE at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #335, or at the New Products Showcase Area located at the entrance of the show.
