RHK Technology have announced that the cryogen-free PanScan Freedom SPM system would now be available in a 9K version.
This announcement comes one year after the release of the original 18K PanScan Freedom.
The Freedom system has changed the way researchers think about low-temperature imaging. This advancement will open up many new possibilities for spectroscopic and morphological studies.

Many materials, like FeSe, V-doped Sb2Te3, dilute magnetic alloys such as Co/Au, exhibit superconducting, magnetic, or Kondo transitions in this temperature range.
“When I saw that the STM current spectrum showed no signature of cryostat vibrations, while operating below 10 Kelvin, I decided immediately to purchase the instrument,” said University of British Columbia professor Jennifer Hoffman.
RHK Technology will be launching this new technology at the 62nd Annual AVS Symposium in San Jose, CA, with a live demonstration throughout the three-day exhibition.
