Quantum Science, developer of the ground-breaking INFIQ® quantum dots, has been recognised among the best and brightest companies in Liverpool’s burgeoning tech sector.
The high-growth nanomaterials innovator was awarded ‘Ones to Watch’ status by Liverpool City Region Tech Climbers on Thursday (February 9) at an event held at the city’s Love Lane Brewery. Tech Climbers is an annual event that celebrates companies in the local area driving transformative technologies – with its Ones to Watch list spotlighting fast-growing scale-ups making exciting technological breakthroughs.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Hao Pang, CEO and Founder of Quantum Science, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be among the Tech Climbers’ top ‘Ones to Watch’ in the Liverpool region. It’s humbling to be acknowledged alongside the other trailblazers working on the next tech revolution and putting Liverpool on the map as a hub of design and innovation.
“This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication displayed by Quantum Science and its contemporaries in the local area, and we look forward to continuing our journey as a business showcasing our INFIQ® quantum dot technology on the international stage.”
INFIQ® quantum dots are light-absorbing nanocrystals that unlock high-performance short wave infrared sensing for mass market consumer applications. Sensitive to a distinct wavelength of infrared light, the quantum dots are suitable for use in cutting-edge photodiode device stacks that can then be used in sensors and imagers, unlocking game-changing new applications for self-driving cars, next-generation medical imaging, 3D mapping for smartphones, and more.
The Tech Climbers regional lists are published each year to showcase the top-performing product-led technology businesses from across the UK. The programme aims to highlight transformative tech scale-ups and encourage growth by connecting businesses.
