Dr Pang was announced as among the forerunners to win the North West Leadership Awards' (Leadership Awards 2024) ‘Technology Leader’ category on Friday December 15.

Quantum Science, based in Daresbury, Warrington, U.K. has rapidly grown under Dr Pang’s leadership from a foundational start up in 2018 to among the world’s foremost semiconductor materials and technology innovators, exporting its INFIQ® Quantum Dot (QD) technology to markets around the world.

INFIQ® QDs are nanoscale semiconductor materials that enable cameras to access short-wave infrared (SWIR) wavelengths of light at a fraction of the price of other SWIR sensing solutions. This enables sensors to ‘see’ beyond the visible, detecting hidden data and unlocking revolutionary applications.

The final results of the North West Leadership Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester in March 2024.

Responding to the nomination, Dr Pang said: “I am beyond honoured to have been put forward for this award alongside so many other outstanding technology leaders from across the region. The North West tech community is a hotbed of innovation, producing exciting technologies and exporting them to markets around the world, and it is extremely gratifying for Quantum Science to be recognised in this sector.

“I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the other nominees and look forward to seeing them at the ceremony next year.”
