IMEC has announced that it will hold its 17th annual research review meeting (ARRM) on October 18 - 19, 2007. The ARRM will feature emerging applications and converging technologies, advanced semiconductor scaling, and perspectives on some of the most significant topics of the semiconductor industry. The event will take place at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
As IMEC's premier annual event, the ARRM brings industry executives and researchers together with senior IMEC research staff to discuss upcoming technology challenges.
ARRM attendees will have the opportunity to choose from nearly a dozen sessions to gain a balanced insight into the challenges and opportunities that the semiconductor industry will face during the coming years.
The ARRM will kick-off with a plenary day on October 18. Topics will include sub-32nm CMOS scaling both for logic and memory, the technological challenges for future ubiquitous embedded systems, converging technologies for biomedical electronics, and the latest developments in efficient and renewable power. An executive dinner in the Métropole Hotel, a Belle Époque masterpiece from the 19th century, will conclude the first day.
The second day of the conference will examine advanced packaging for heterogeneous systems, flexible electronics and sub-32nm CMOS, and IMEC's 200mm CMOS technology platform whereby semiconductor process development is accelerated toward innovative smart products. A dedicated session on enabling electronics for the automotive industry will conclude the second day.
With a multitude of research disciplines in-house and a solid track record on conventional scaling technologies, IMEC takes a leading role in the changing semiconductor landscape.
