Anyone wanting to do business with Israel’s scientific community will be able to meet all the important companies in one place, event organizers in Dallas announced today. Firms specializing in nanotechnology from Israel will be the single largest pavilion at the nanotxUSA’08 conference/Expo, taking place under one roof at the Hyatt Regency Dallas convention hotel October 2 and 3.
The pavilion will have 14 organizations in all from Israel, hosted by the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, joined by the Israel Economic Mission and the BIRD Foundation; NanoIsrael’s Michal Kainan-Koren (Yissum Hebrew University Technology Transfer) will also be looking to establish contacts at the event.
Firms represented in the Israeli Pavilion include NanoReady whose CEO, Ronen Frish, will be on hand; NutraLease, also know as Frutarom; SELA; Cima Nanotech; 3GSolar; INNI; Nanomaterials, Inc.(a subsidiary of ApNano Materials, Inc); Nanonics; KiloLambda; even Silicon Valley Bank representing its Israeli subsidiary will be included. At press time organizers were still waiting to hear from Tehuti Networks.
“Some of the most remarkable things are being done in Israel,” said talk radio host Colonel Mason, “you won’t believe the advances they are making in water purification alone. That will benefit arid regions everywhere, even with their formally hostile Arab neighbors. Prof. Yoram Oren of the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research will be an important feature at the Israeli Pavilion.”
Mason said he learned a lot when he interviewed on his science radio program one of the nanotxUSA’08 speakers, Dan Valenski of the Israeli National Nanotechnology Initiative. “Nanotechnology in Israel is being adapted rapidly, largely because of their government’s support, Israel’s need to mine brain power since there are few natural resources, and their ability to get things done and approved rapidly,” said Mason. His interview with Valenski is archived and can be heard at the radio program’s website: http://www.promiseoftomorrow.biz/bizradio/090708/090708.htm
