Nanosonics (ASX:NAN; FSE:OQS) has formally appointed its first exclusive distributors in Europe located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and Scandinavia.
According to Nanosonics' Director and CEO David Radford, this represents the achievement of another key milestone in the commercialisation of the company's launch product, the Trophon EPR, scheduled for March 2009.
The Trophon EPR is an environmentally friendly device specifically designed to disinfect intracavity and surface ultrasound transducers. The product represents Nanosonics' first commercial application of one of its core technologies, the NanoNebulant(TM) technology.
Compared to existing disinfection solutions, the Trophon EPR marks the beginning of a new level of disinfection: High Level Disinfection+, including sporicidal efficacy.
"We feel that there is strong demand for this unique product in ultrasound and infection control markets worldwide. The critical success factor will be the adoption of quality standards that provide for high level disinfection of ultrasound transducers. We are planning to overcome these challenges through beneficial cooperations with outstanding distribution partners in each country", David Radford said.
Nanosonics is proceeding to establish a distribution infrastructure which will provide a sustainable competitive advantage for future growth. "The dealer contracts signed in Europe already commit a considerable increase well above our internal sales projections and consumables from these device sales will provide a secondary ongoing revenue stream", David continued.
Further negotiations with well respected dealers located in other European, Asian and African countries are in progress and supposed to be successfully completed soon.
