The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov, Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko, Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina, RUSNANO Director General Anatoly Chubais, Director of the Russian Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk, Nobel prize winner, vice-president of RAS Zhores Alferov, Director of the Institute for Lasers, Photonics, and Biophotonics Paras Prasad (USA) will speak at the Forum.
Over 3000 people from 33 countries will take part in the Forum lasting until December 5th. Among them - scientists, businessmen and representatives of state authorities.
The Nanotechnology International Forum - one of the first steps towards creating in Russia a global platform for communications, where representatives of science and business will be able to discuss the practical themes of nanotechnology development. These are the leading directions for turning the Russian economy to the innovative way of further growth.
The business part of the Forum covers a wide range of topics: from international experience on forming the national innovative system to measures which should be taken to stimulate the development of financial, production and technical, information and educational infrastructure, support of the fundamental science, improvement in legislative basis.
Special attention is paid to perspectives of using nanotechnologies in different fields of economy: from electronics, medicine and biotechnology to machinery, oil and gas, chemical industry, regional development programs.
The scientific and technical program of the Forum spans 29 sections where 263 talks and posters will be given. The sections cover 18 main directions for development of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials creation.
Over 300 of nanoscience projects submitted by young Russian scientists are shown on the Forum. Authors of the best 50 works will receive the prize for young researchers which is planned to be granted annually.
During the Forum the Expocenter holds an exhibition where the cutting-edge nanotech developments are on display. The exhibition hosts 80 projects of firms and organizations from Russia, Austria, Germany, Latvia, the USA, Finland.
