nano tech 2009 International Nanotechnology Exhibition + Conference will be held by nano tech executive committee (Chairman: Prof. Tomoji Kawai, Osaka University) from February 18 to 20, 2009 at Tokyo Big Sight, East Exhibition Halls 4,5,6 and the Conference Tower.
The eighth edition of the exhibition and conference is more international in scope than ever. 606 companies and organizations representing 21 countries and regions will exhibit at 905 booths. Led by a 98-booth German Pavilion, 280 of the booths will be operated by 213 overseas companies and organizations. Japan, known for its leading role in manufacturing, will host once again this world’s largest nanotechnology exhibition. 50,000 visitors from around the world are expected to attend the event.
The event is supported by the Cabinet Office; the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications; the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; the embassies of 13 countries including the United Kingdom and Germany; the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO); and nine other organizations. The theme of nano tech 2009: Green Nanotechnology
For the first time, nano tech will share a common theme -“Green Nanotechnology-Towards the next innovation”- together with the other six concurrently held exhibitions. Exhibiting companies and organizations involved in areas ranging from nano-materials to evaluation and measurement will introduce environmental products and technologies that leverage the unique potential of nanotechnology.
Nowadays many industrial companies are aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of their products and technologies. At the same time, expectations towards the development of technologies that will help to solve environmental problems are increasingly high. This is a field where the potential of leading-edge nano technologies is particularly striking. Along with the theme of Green Nanotechnology, nano tech 2009 will take a step beyond Research and Development to focus on applied products and technologies that are already delivering practical results in the environmental arena. This is a remarkable approach because it is combining a commitment to meet the challenges of our time with state-of-the-art technology.
Green Nanotechnology Special Symposium will be held at the Main Theater in the exhibition hall.
