Zyvex Announces Distribution Agreement with Micro Optics - News Item

Zyvex Corporation, a leading nanotechnology company commercializing innovative tools, products and services, today announced today a distribution agreement with Micro Optics of Florida, Inc. The two companies will collaborate on selling tools for micro- and nanotechnology applications. These include Zyvex’s S100 Nanomanipulator System, a positioning and testing tool for nanotechnology applications, and the S100 Optical Docking Station, an accessory that enables the S100 to operate with a range of optical microscopes.

The S100 platform accommodates up to four, three-dimensional stages, which grasp, move, test and optimally position nanoscale samples for scanning electron microscopes (SEMs). An ergonomic joystick and illuminated keypad provide superior degrees of control and resolution. Additionally, a selection of NanoSharp™ probes, microgrippers, and NanoEffectors™ are available to expand the range of testing. The Optical Docking Station enables portability of the S100 between SEMs and optical microscopes. This flexibility allows users to transport their work between instruments — maximizing the efficiency and usage of higher-cost SEMs.

Thomas A. Cellucci, Ph.D. MBA, Chief Operating Officer of Zyvex, noted: “This relationship demonstrates the flexibility of Zyvex’s tools, and our commitment to creative solutions for research and production. One tool that has many applications delivers more value to the user. Our customers can now move their work freely among the instruments to improve workflow and cost efficiency.”

Mark Fosbender, President of Micro Optics of Florida, stated: “Our ability to offer the Zyvex S100 Nanomanipulator System to our established client base, as well as new customers seeking nanotechnology tools, will benefit both companies. We will be a catalyst to introduce the Zyvex’s S100 to customers who need cost-effective solutions for diversified research, or improved throughput in a commercial environment. This is a valuable extension of the S100’s capabilities.”

This agreement is an integral part of Zyvex’s mission of providing flexible, automated manufacturing at ever decreasing size scales.
