Boeing Developing Nanotechnologies For New Aircraft - News Item

The Chicago Sun Times has reported David Whelan, general manager of Boeing's Phantom Works, Boeing's R&D arm, saying his company is developing new materials using nanotechnology.

Their plan is to develop new materials for use in building lighter but stronger aircraft, specialised coatings that mean planes do not need to be repainted as well as lighter, smaller, more powerful and longer-lasting batteries for satellites.
