Background
Emma gained a BEng(Hons) degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Loughborough in 2004 and completed her PhD in the Department of Aeronautical & Automotive Engineering in 2007. Emma’s PhD was focussed on developing a model-based fault diagnostic methodology, specifically for aircraft fuel systems. She then gained experience working at Atkins Defence on both nuclear defence and nuclear power generation projects.
Emma joined the PMC in 2008 and is currently managing a project portfolio that includes EU FP7, TSB and EPSRC funded programmes. Following the PMC's successful involvement in a joint EPSRC/BAE Systems research project in service support engineering, Emma is leading internal investigations into enabling through life capability management. Research is ongoing into the development of an integrated decision support model that will enable the selection of an appropriate life cycle support strategy using pre-defined capability requirements.
Emma is also a qualified PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner and is a member of the internal PMC team leading the Centre towards a higher level of PRINCE2 maturity. As part of her duties within the PMC Project Support Office, Emma is the Quality Management Representative and assists in quality management activities related to ISO9001:2008 and project assurance.
