Researchers Produce Low-Cost Solar Paint Using Semiconducting Nanoparticles

A research team led by Prashant Kamat, who serves as an investigator at the Center for Nano Science and Technology (NDnano) of the University of Notre Dame as well as John A. Zahm Professor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry, has utilized quantum dots, which are semiconducting nanoparticles, to develop a low-cost solar paint for generating energy.

Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Facility to Open on December 2011

Construction of a second research facility is completed at the South Campus of the Gateway University Research Park. The two-story research facility spanning 105,000 sq. ft will accommodate the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN), a partnership between The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T).
