Applications Invited for 2014 Eli and Britt Harari Graphene Enterprise Award Competition

The Eli and Britt Harari Graphene Enterprise Award, in association with Sir Andre Geim, is a £50,000 annual award to help establish new enterprises in graphene at The University of Manchester. The award aims to encourage the development of new graphene enterprises identified through the submission of a business plan by current students or recent graduates of the University.

New Method Virtually Eliminates External Contamination in Graphene

Dr. Cory Dean, assistant professor of physics at The City College of New York, is the lead author of a paper published November 1 in the journal “Science” that demonstrates it is possible for an atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) material to have electrical contact along its one-dimensional (1D) edge. The contact architecture offers a new assembly technique for layered materials that prevents contamination at interfaces.
