Obducat To Take Part In An Exhibition For Solar Cell Technology

For the first time Obducat will take part in an exhibition for solar cell technology. Obducat exhibits at Intersolar North America, presenting among other things its new lithography system Sindre 400. The efficiency of solar cells can be improved by the use of Obducat's nanotechnology, hence allowing more energy to be extracted from each cell.

Intersolar North America, USA's largest trade show for solar technology, takes place in San Francisco on 14-16 July. Obducat will be presenting its new lithography system which makes the extraction of energy from solar cells more efficient. Obducat's nanoimprint lithography is employed to print small structures on the surfaces of the solar cell. The structures enlarge the surface of the solar cell, thereby increasing its efficiency.

"Intersolar is attended by large, well-established electronics companies as well as new, emerging small companies targeting the market niche of solar cell technology. We want to demonstrate the advantages of our technology for them and their products," says Patrik Lundström, CEO, Obducat.

The development of greentech, with increased focus on renewable energy production and lower emissions, has increased the interest in solar cell technology. Obducat's customers in the research world have during the past four years used nanoimprint lithography to improve the extraction of energy from solar cells. Now industrial players are also beginning to show interest.

"Most companies today are focusing on economising on the earth's natural resources, and the growing greentech area means big opportunities for Obducat in the future. The more energy that can be utilised from a given source, the better for the environment," says Lundström.

Intersolar North America is on for three days, 14-16 July 2009, featuring 500 exhibitors showing their products. The exhibition is expected to attract 15 000 visitors. Learn more about Intersolar North America on: www.intersolar.us
