Aztech Controls, a Chandler Arizona based firm specializing in process controls for the delivery of critical fluids, introduces an innovation to help reduce costs and time to installation for Semiconductor, Nano-technology and Solar process tools. Aztech has a product offering of inventoried, pre-engineered, assembled and tested gas sticks for ultra high purity (UHP) and general purity / non-process (GP / NP) gas delivery.
Gas sticks (pressure control manifolds) are used to control & indicate pressure, filter and isolate gases going to feed semiconductor process tools. The typical "custom build to order" model used by most semiconductor end users can prove to be costly and may take up to 8 weeks or more to get a gas stick needed for tool hook up. This delays the customer's production and compromises the ability to meet demand and revenue projections. The cost of delays far exceed the gas stick cost, but have been the norm until Aztech's new proactive and innovative supply model.
Aztech has developed an offering of more than 50 unique part numbers that meet all process tool control needs and can be delivered from inventory; cutting down valuable lead time and costs associated with current market channels. Aztech has proven its concepts with many of the world's largest micro-chip manufacturers, delivering better than 96% from stock, for projects ranging from large tool ramps to the occasional tool install or tool relocation.
Gas sticks available from stock are intended for high purity services and lower purity compressed dry air (CDA) or Nitrogen (N2), from 1 to 1500 standard liters per minute (slpm). Typical gases include are Oxygen (O2) , Hydrogen (H2), Helium (He), Argon (Ar), Nitrogen and all other non-toxic/corrosive gases, however Aztech is capable of building gas sticks into enclosures for more hazardous applications.
Due to the fact that Aztech delivers a standardized design from stock, their costs are some of the lowest in the industry. All gas sticks are pre-tested and certified for impurities (particles, moisture, oxygen) and leak rates. Testing is always performed by a third party quality company and every stick is shipped with complete documentation. If there should ever arise a quality issue with any assembly, all gas sticks are serialized and parts are fully traceable (components, assembly & testing). A unique and low cost base assembly is utilized which supports and protects the assembly during shipment, and simplifies installation at the customer site.
Jason Medhurst, Sales Manager of Aztech Controls, has said that "our clients are usually somewhat apprehensive at first because this sort of claim has been made in the past. After working with us, they are amazed at how easy it is to work with us; and gas sticks are now a problem of the past. They can move on to tackling more pressing issues."
Aztech Controls maintains a Class 10 cleanroom for assembly and testing with high purity utilities (DI Water, N2, Ar, He), a complete fabrication shop, high purity welding & fabrication, engineering and design, and warehousing. Aztech Controls currently supports end users and OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers) throughout the USA, UK, Asia, Southeast Asia, & Middle East.
Aztech Controls manufactures many other innovative solutions for the delivery and control of specialty gases and process chemicals. These include systems and sub-systems from the source to point of use. You can learn more about Aztech's capabilities @ www.aztechcontrols.com
