Abstract submissions are now open for the 35th IEEE Photovoltaic (PV) Specialists Conference, the industry's most renowned meeting of leading PV scientists and engineers from around the world. Authors interested in presenting a paper at the conference are invited to submit a technical abstract by 15 February 2010.
The conference and exhibition will take place in Honolulu, Hawai’i from 20-25 June 2010 at the Hawai’i Convention Center.
The 35th IEEE PV Specialists Conference technical program includes the following areas:
- Fundamentals and New Concepts for Future Technologies
- CIGS and CeTe Thin Film Solar Cells and Related Materials
- III-V and Concentrator Technologies
- Crystalline Silicon Technologies
- Amorphous, Nano and Film Si Technologies
- Organic Photovoltaics
- Space Technologies
- Advances in Characterization of Photovoltaics
- PV Modules and Terrestrial Systems
- PV Velocity Forum: Accelerating the PV Economy

Since 1980, the PV Specialists Conference has bestowed the prestigious William R. Cherry Award upon an engineer or scientist who has devoted his or her career to the advancement of PV technology. Nominations for the 2010 award close on 31 December 2009. Previous honorees include:
- Dr. Richard Swanson, president & chief technical officer at SunPower
- Dr. Ajeet Rohatgi, chief technical officer of Suniva and director of the University Center of Excellence for Photovoltaics Research (UCEP) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
- Dr. Martin Green, professor at the University of New South Wales.
