B2B PR agency The Scott Partnership has been appointed by innovative new start-up company SmartKem to drive a public relations campaign aimed at launching the innovative new company. SmartKem has devised a new technique set to revolutionize the printed electronics industry, involving the manipulation of organic and inorganic materials using laser light to create conductive or semiconductive microelectronics on multiple substrates, with a particular focus on flexibles. The Scott Partnership has been appointed to work on the new contract due to its excellent reputation for delivering strategic PR campaigns to the electronic and technical sectors.
Printed electronics is a rapidly emerging area which has been developed in response to the growing need for silicon-based photolithography alternatives for manufacturing electronics. Printed electronics are flexible, inexpensive and have the potential for producing large area electronics on flexible substrates such as paper and film. Key applications for this innovative approach include LCD and OLED displays, printable sensors, smart packaging, documents, cards and textiles and solar technology (photovoltaics).
SmartKem's unique technology is set to replace both traditional photolithography and standard printing techniques for the creation of flexible devices using printed electronics. The company plans to adopt a collaborative approach in order to solve the market challenges and bridge the gap between printing and electronics. The Scott Partnership was approached by the fledgling company to raise awareness of the new company and position CEO Steve Kelly as spokesperson for successful new start-up and venture-funded companies. The specialist agency was selected for its understanding of technical subjects and ability to deliver a quick turnaround of results.
Steve Kelly, CEO at SmartKem, said: "As a new company it is important to have the right people in place. We are delighted to be working with The Scott Partnership because of the agency's proven experience in technical fields and its ability to deliver tangible results quickly. I have worked with The Scott Partnership in previous businesses I have led and I respect their tenacity and absolute ability to get the job done. The Scott Partnership was the only agency that we approached and we are looking forward to working with the team to develop increased awareness of our innovative approach to this exciting new area of the electronics industry."
