Stion, a manufacturer of high-efficiency, thin-film solar panels, has received certification of its 110 and 120 watt thin-film, CIGSS solar panels to the ANSI / UL 1703 and IEC 61646 industry standards.

Stion’s Elevation Series panels are the largest and most efficient U.S.-made monolithically integrated CIGSS panels to receive full-commercial certification.

“UL and IEC certification is an important achievement in Stion’s commercial growth, and we are thrilled to be shipping fully-qualified products to customers,” said Chet Farris, president & CEO. “We are committed to delivering high-performance, high-quality products while continuing to build on our comprehensive reliability and testing programs.”

Stion’s panels have a convenient form factor (65 cm x 165 cm) and superior all-black aesthetics. They are specifically designed for use in all major market segments, including commercial/government, residential, utility and off-grid.

Stion currently manufactures its panels in San Jose, Calif. and recently announced a new production facility in Hattiesburg, Miss., including a 100 MW first phase of expansion by 2012.
