Microfluidics International Corporation (OTCBB:MFLU) today announced that its Quality Management System has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification.
The certification verifies that Microfluidics has effectively applied the ISO 9001 standard to the design, manufacture and distribution of Microfluidizer® high shear fluid processors for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical and allied industries. The certification was provided by United Registrar Services, LLC and authorized through TGA, The German Association for Accreditation GMBH.
“Assuring customers that we focus on understanding their requirements is the most fundamental benefit provided by ISO certification,” said Michael C. Ferrara, President and Chief Executive Officer of Microfluidics. “ISO certification is ideal because it is an internationally recognized standard that spans all industries. This independent certification serves as validation that our organization is actively engaged in and committed to quality. Simply put, ISO means ‘peace of mind’ to customers who understand the value of utilizing a global standard as the basis for their Quality Management System.”
Microfluidizer processors are engineered, constructed, customized and shipped by dedicated employees located at the company’s global headquarters in Newton, MA. More than 3,000 processors – including the new LV1 Low Volume Microfluidizer processor – are installed at leading pharmaceutical, industrial and academic research institutions in more than 50 countries worldwide.
“The comprehensive approach taken to improvement activities in our Quality Management system fits very well with ISO’s expectations for continuous improvement,” said Bill Conroy, Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering at Microfluidics. “Whether it is customer service, product design, production or field service, the same process standards apply for every customer around the world.”
