Applied Materials has entered into a multi-year service agreement with TowerJazz to support Applied Materials equipment at its semiconductor factory located in Newport Beach, California. The agreement will provide cost- efficient system uptime based on factory loading.
Ephie Koltin, senior vice president at TowerJazz, the development will allow his company to focus on its core mission of developing complicated customized CMOS, analog, power monitoring, image sensor, and mixed-signal and MEMS solutions for the present electronics market.
Charlie Pappis, group vice president and general manager of Applied Global Services, says that this development will further help his company to allow its customers to change fixed capital to variable expenses in tune with their income.
According to the contract, Applied will provide technical support in etch, metrology and inspection tools of the production process. A team of Applied engineers who have been certified by both local and global located bodies will offer continuous support with engineering and logistics technologies, such as the company’s ExpertConnect remote diagnostic system.
