Blue Ocean Biomedical Launches LG Series Flow Cytometry Systems in Rome

LG Series Flow Cytometry Systems have been launched by Blue Ocean Biomedical, to count lymphocyte subsets and CD4 cells and is the first-ever completely automated, load & go equipment available.

These lymphocyte subsets, which include both absolute and percent counts of B cells, T cells and NK cells, are useful to check the level of immunity in HIV-positive patients and for other medical conditions. The LG Series Flow Cytometry Systems will be released at the International AIDS Society (IAS) conference held from July 17-20 in Rome, Italy.

The President of Blue Ocean, Ernie Thomas, stated that existing flow cytometry systems can be operated only by highly skilled personnel and the workflow is laborious, slow and complex. On the other hand, with the LG Systems, the user just needs to load the blood tubes and the rest of the process will be taken care by the system automatically. It is possible to load up to 40 blood tubes into the system. With this flow cytometer, it is possible to do routine clinical analysis using multicolor CD4 panels.

The LG Series flow cytometers meets the European IVD Directive standards. The CR Series systems from Blue Ocean are used for research purposes only and are available in the US and international markets.
