Photo Stencil, which offers superior-performance tooling and stencils, has added an advanced chemical etching production line to its stencil production facility in Malaysia.
The addition of the new chemical etching line expands the ranges of support and stencil technology available to customers in the region. The Malaysian facility measuring 15,000 sq ft has employed 30 people. In addition to engineering, stencil production, application support and sales capabilities, the facility has a CAD department to provide design optimization and support to local customers.
The Chief Executive Officer and President at Photo Stencil, Neil MacRaild stated that even if the company has been manufacturing squeegee blades and stencils since 2001 in Malaysia, the addition of the new chemical etch line allows the company to manufacture complex multi-level step stencils in the territory. The expansion of the manufacturing capacity and capabilities of stencil in Malaysia is a part of the company’s worldwide strategic growth policy, he added.
Photo Stencil Malaysia’s General Manager, Calvin Lim stated that the demand for more complex and highly accurate stencils that can fulfill the requirements of demanding print applications has grown in Malaysia. The company has provided step stencil technologies for the past several years using the support of its headquarters based in Colorado, the United States, he said. Customers in the Malaysian region are facing difficulties in the printing process and decreased lead times, he added. The inclusion of the chemical etching production line will allow the company to offer the most complex multi-level step stencils to its customers on a quick-turn basis, he concluded.
