Industrial Nanotech’s Indian distributor, Angstrom Technology has informed that the company’s customer Seshasayee Paper & Boards has delivered a presentation titled ‘Energy Conservation Using Nanotechnology Based Insulation Coating in Paper Machine Dryer at Seshasayee Paper’ at Papertech 2011.
Seshasayee Paper & Boards’ Head of Energy and Climate Change Development, Dr. T.G. Sundara Raman delivered the presentation under the ‘Energy & Environment’ category. In the presentation, he described about the benefits of Industrial Nanotech’s proprietary Nansulate thermal insulation coatings for insulating and shielding paper production equipment at Seshasayee Paper & Boards.
Industrial Nanotech’s Vice President of Business Development, Francesca Crolley stated that the company’s coatings can reduce energy expenditures and enhance equipment life in several processes in the paper and pulp industry. The benefits of Nansulate coatings highlighted in the paper include weight and space reduction, capability to be coated over non-uniform profiles, minimal thermal conductivity and steam savings by decreasing radiation loss, he said.
Crolley further said that the EPX 2-part epoxy coating provides flame and chemical resistance and its clear Nansulate Translucent PT coating has the potential to detect leaks clearly and rapidly. The company’s customers experience 20% reduction in process energy expenditures and enhanced operator safety due to decrease in temperature of hot surfaces and heat released to the surroundings, he said. The company plans to expand its presence in production to paper and pulp industry and as a whole in India, the US and globally, he added.
For the paper industry, Industrial Nanotech’s nanotech-based insulation coatings can be applied in areas including CPU-PHE & EOP head covers, storage tanks, heated HFO lines, chiller lines in CI02 unit, LP steam pipelines and accessories, warm and hot condensate, paper machine dryer unit, boiler feed water and process fluid lines and more.
