Industrial Nanotech, a provider of nanoscience-based solutions, reported that Montaco, an industrial contractor, has placed an order worth $163,298 to purchase 2,150 gal of Nansulate Translucent PT corrosion prevention and insulation coating.
Montaco won the bid for applying Nansulate coatings on fuel oil tanks at Galp Energia’s Matosinhos refinery located in Portugal. This deal is Industrial Nanotech’s third order for projects at the Matosinhos refinery encompassing an oil pipeline and fuel oil storage tanks for corrosion control and insulation.
Industrial Nanotech’s Vice President of Business Development, Francesca Crolley stated that the company expects to continuously supply its Nansulate Translucent PT to Galp Energia as it is continuously upgrading its Portugal refineries. The fuel oil storage tank project, started in 2011 with extensive applications of Nansulate coating, was stopped in the winter season. Since the weather has become warm again, the project has been resumed.
Nansulate industrial coatings offer a superior insulation solution for tanks, pipes and other hardware thanks to their remarkable thermal performance, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand adverse conditions. Other than industrial coatings, the Nansulate family also includes solar thermal insulation, agricultural and residential coatings.
Galp Energia, the largest oil firm in Portugal, has involved in activities ranging from oil and natural gas exploration and production to natural gas sales and marketing, oil product refining and marketing, and power generation. The company carries out crude oil processing in its refineries located at Matosinhos and Sines.
