American Graphite Technologies Inc. ("AGIN" or the "Company") announces receipt of final approval from the Science and Technology Centre Ukraine (STCU) for the startup of its project, dubbed P600. The project was granted live status on October 1, 2013.
Project P600 is a collaboration between the Company and the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology in Kharkov, Ukraine.
The project is designed to research the properties of nanocarbon contained matter as a working material for 3D printing. The project team will consist of 8 scientists and PhDs with experience in the fields of nanotechnology, 3D printing, solid state physics, physical materials and thermal physics.
The mandate of the project is to research the properties of materials containing nanostructured carbon, primarily graphene, to research the existing and prospective methods of 3D printing and analyze the possibility of applying the techniques to create 3D objects using nanocarbon material.
"I am very excited about the startup of Project P600. During the next few days I will be meeting with the project manager to discuss the various avenues his team will explore with respect to using graphene and nanocarbon materials in 3D printing. About Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology ("KIPT")
Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology ("KIPT"), being one of the oldest and largest centers of physical science in Ukraine, was created in 1928 for the purpose of developing urgent lines of research (at the time -- nuclear physics and solid-state physics). About the American Graphite Technologies Inc. and CTI Technologies LLC Agreement
On January 25th 2013, the Company announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with a private US company CTI Nanotechnologies LLC. ("CTI") to further the development and commercialization of Graphene Paper. American Graphite has provided its initial funding as laid out in the agreement with CTI and will provide updates as they occur. CTI is working on the development and commercialization of Graphene Paper. The initial funding received by CTI from the Company will be used to acquire test and manufacturing equipment to enhance CTI's existing facility located in Vermont with the goal of developing a prototype production machine that makes Graphene Paper in larger and more affordable sizes than currently available.
