Highest Force Moving Magnet Actuator Introduced By H2W

H2W introduces its highest force (135 lbs, [600 N] peak force) moving magnet actuator. This NCM series voice coil actuator (NCM08-35-450-3LB) can be operated under either open or closed loop position control, or force control and is ideal for high force motion control applications.

This moving magnet type linear actuator incorporates high energy product neodymium magnets in conjunction with a precision layer wound winding to obtain maximum motor efficiency. It has a precision ground 0.500 in diameter hardened steel shaft that is guided by two recirculating linear ball bushings (sliding contact bushings are available for high acceleration and high frequency oscillatory applications). An optional hollow shaft is available for routing a fiber optic cable, passing light through, or routing an air hose for vacuum or pressurized air.

The NCM08-35-450-3LB moving magnet voice coil has a 0.750 in [19 mm] stroke, generates 45 lbs [200 N] of continuous force and 145 lbs [600 N] of peak force. The actuator can be driven in open loop force mode by feeding a control signal into a DC linear or brush type servo amplifier which is in turn connected to the two leads of the actuator. The actuator can also be operated as a closed loop positioning system by adding a programmable motion controller and a position feedback device.

Features:

- High force and acceleration

- Built in linear bearing system

- Compact size

- Custom strokes and force configurations available
