Fulcrum SP Materials Ltd., a world leader in innovative nanotechnology for enhanced composite materials, today announced that its 750 square meter pilot production facility is now fully operational.
Applying its technology via standard textile dyeing machines, Fulcrum can now coat 100-meter fabric rolls with its SP1/CNT technology combining individually dispersed, single molecular layer of carbon nanotubes. The fabrics include woven and unwoven standard carbon fiber, glass-fiber, aramid and high-density polypropylene fiber rolls, as well as yarn and tow.
For each of its customers' products, Fulcrum develops optimized coating conditions while ensuring strict quality control. Fulcrum's in-house mechanical testing laboratory can then demonstrate for its customers the improved mechanical properties of the laminates made from the fabrics treated with its SP1/CNT solution.
"Our unique SP1/CNT technology, which combines biotechnology and nanotechnology, implemented for mass production in standard textile dyeing machines, enables us to provide our customers with a wide variety of solutions, tailored to their specific needs. We are very pleased by our customers' feedback and cooperation in introducing our SP1/CNT complex to their products. We are always looking for new partners to work together to create the next generation of composite parts and products," said Nimrod Litvak, Fulcrum's CEO.
About Fulcrum SP Materials Ltd:
Established in 2007, Fulcrum SP Materials is a nanotechnology company commercializing the use of nanoparticles in the rapidly growing $106 billion composites market (Source: JEC Composites). The composites market includes raw materials such as carbon/glass fibers and aramid. Composites are commonly used in industries such as aerospace, construction, transport and marine, wind energy and sports equipment. Fulcrum's proprietary SP1/CNT technology can significantly improve the performance properties of composites; creating for its customers stronger and lighter parts manufactured at lower-cost. From its headquarters in Israel, Fulcrum is working in close cooperation with a number of leading multinational companies to develop a range of improved and innovative new commercial products for various end-markets.
