N12 Technologies, Inc., a Cambridge -based startup that’s commercializing revolutionary nanotechnology to enhance composite materials has been selected 2015 TiE50 Top Start-up. The recognition was announced on Saturday, May 4th by the TiE50 organization. Selection for this recognition is keenly contested by thousands of technology startups worldwide and represents the best of the breed startups screened from more than 2,700 companies.
Based on MIT-developed and exclusively licensed vertically aligned carbon nanotube (VACNT) technology, N12 has created the world’s first commercial-scale continuous manufacturing capability for its Nanostitch™ product. Nanostitch™ improves shear properties of carbon-fiber and other composite materials by 10-40% and lengthens fatigue life 100 fold.
