Epik Energy Solutions announced today that it will present at reception to be held during the upcoming 2008 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), May 5-8 at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas. Representatives from the joint venture between NanoDynamics, Inc. and Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1 B.V. will present on applied nanotechnology in oil and gas exploration and production.
With the theme “Waves of Change,” OTC 2008 will reflect on the global oil and gas industry’s transition as project scopes and parameters continue to be stretched against escalating needs. In the conference’s more than 300 presentations, primary issues addressed will include the necessary changes in both technology and the labor force to ensure long-term success in meeting consistent and increasing global demand for oil. The conference will also address the greater economic, social and political aspects of resource development and environmental protection, which have been mainstay topics each year.
“As we continue to experience a rapidly increasing demand for energy across the globe, the time has come for the E&P sector and nanotechnology industry to explore collaborative efforts that address the broad range of exploration and production issues faced by today’s oil and gas industry,” said Keith Blakely, Epik Energy Solutions CEO. “Epik Energy Solutions is excited to share information on the ways in which this is possible for the immediate future, in applications ranging from advanced energy storage and improved down-hole and platform structural materials to new catalyst materials and disruptive water filtration, purification, and treatment materials.”
Dr. Alan Rae, David Norton and Larry Offenbacher, business development consultants for Epik Energy Solutions, will present on the employment of nanotechnology in their reception booth.
