What has been called “the most important nanotechnology conference in the Americas” is again shaping up for October 2-3 during International Nanotechnology Week at the Hyatt Regency Dallas convention hotel.
Theme of the nanotxUSA conference this year is Accelerating Nanotechnology Commercialization, and foremost leaders in these fields representing countries such as Austria, UK, Japan, Israel, India, Mexico, Italy, Australia, Canada, Spain, China, South Korea, etc. will be presenting revolutionary new ideas and programs.
Also presenting, of course, are leading minds in technology commercialization from around the United States, such as Prof. Ray Baughman, world famous scientist and Director of the Nanotech Institute at the University of Texas, Dallas, who told reporters “nanotx(USA) is … so important for our country, and in the sense of bringing together scientists and technologists from many different fields, … in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and providing for interactions on all levels. nanotx(USA) provides such a brilliant, useful place for people who have technology or developing technology to meet with people who have capital for investments and meeting with companies that have distribution chains.”
Dr. Baughman will be showing totally new breakthrough at the conference, the details of which are now closely held. His comments on The Promise of Tomorrow radio broadcasts are archived at www.PromiseOfTomorrow.biz
Headlining the conference are some who have become legends in science commercialization such as Eric Drexler, famous researcher and author who established fundamental principles of molecular design, protein engineering, and productive nanosystems; Stan Ovshinsky, world-famed pioneer in nanostructures, who was once named Time Magazine’s “Hero of the Planet” and once having been profiled in a one-hour PBS program on NOVA entitled “Japan’s American Genius.”
Also speaking is scientist/businessman William Kroll, chairman of Matheson Tri-Gas and who served on the Commission of Outsourcing and Off-shoring for the governor of New Jersey; Mark Hakey, Distinguished Engineer - Semiconductor Research & Development Center IBM Corporation; and Dr. Zvi Yaniv of Applied Nanotech.
“The list of top speakers is incredible,” said General Manager Richard Mason. “This sensational conference was put together by a dynamic team of extremely talented advisors, all can be seen at the website, www.nanotxUSA.com.”
In addition to this world renowned conference, the Business Hall will feature new exhibits in nanotechnology and emerging science commercialization. Everything from nanofiber solutions and lab media mills to tiny tech tools such as microscale and nanocscale standing wave probing, Raman spectrographs, particle analyzers, bench top rapid thermal annealer, nano surface metrology systems, sputter systems and PLD equipment, nano particle dispersions, nanoparticle purification equipment, and other research equipment. Biology and medicine will feature hemobiotech and smart drug delivery systems. There will be bio-degradable plastics, new and used semiconductor equipment, universities will show their research, incubators and emerging products, many their educational opportunities.
The Dallas Museum of Nature and Science is sponsoring free admission to the exhibits, a $60 value, for those who pre-register at the website, and all those attending nanotxUSA’08 Conference/Expo will also receive free admission to the existing museum facility (normally $8.75 for adults, but free when showing nanotxUSA attendee badge) located on the Texas State Fair grounds after paid admission to the state fair.
Those attending nanotxUSA’08 will be able to see a model and architectural conceptions of the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science facility when it is built at Victory Park, to be named after Ross Perot Sr. and his wife, Margot.
