Legend Design Technology, Inc. today announced that its MSIM® circuit simulator has been qualified through TSMC's 40 nanometer (nm) SPICE Tool Qualification Program. The program provides designers the ability to select qualified SPICE simulators to match their design needs, improve compliance with processes technology, and ensure design accuracy for first time silicon success.
"Legend’s MSIM circuit simulator met our 40nm SPICE Tool Qualification requirements for accuracy and performance. The MSIM Qualification report has been posted on TSMC-Online," said Tom Quan, deputy director of design service marketing at TSMC.
MSIM is a SPICE-level simulation analysis tool with the optimized algorithms for accuracy, speed and convergence. For efficiently simulating the layout-extracted circuits, MSIM has built in RC reduction functions based on an advanced AWE scheme. For accurately characterizing the model of cell libraries, MSIM can automatically optimize the simulation tolerances and time-step controls for best performance. MSIM provides the benefits of extreme accuracy, high speed, excellent convergence, and built-in RC reduction.
"MSIM qualification and certification through TSMC’s SPICE Tool Qualification Program is a very important milestone to support our mutual customers' continued success," said Dr. You-Pang Wei, president and CEO of Legend Design Technology, Inc. "By completing TSMC's rigorous qualification process, Legend ensures that customers can have the most confidence in using MSIM to verify their analog, digital and mixed-signal designs requiring true accuracy, unparalleled performance, and high capacity for achieving first time silicon success.”
