Background

Richard Taylor is a Professor of Physics, Psychology and Art. Since gaining his Physics Ph.D. in 1988 (Nottingham, UK), he has published over 220 research papers and has worked in the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, he trained as a painter at the Manchester School of Art (U.K.), and has a degree in Art Theory (University of New South Wales, Australia). Taylor has studied non-linear science (in particular fractals, chaos and complexity) in a diverse range of research fields, including physics, nanotechnology, psychology, physiology, geography, architecture and art. His work has been the subject of television documentaries and popular press articles (for example, in the New York Times and Scientific American). He regularly gives lectures around the world, commissioned by agencies as diverse as the Nobel Foundation, the British Royal Society and national galleries.
