Carbon Nanotubes Could Permit Fluid Flow Faster Than Theory Predicts

Researchers have found that membranes composed of man-made carbon nanotubes permit a fluid flow nearly 10,000 to 100,000 times faster than conventional fluid flow theory would predict because of the nanotubes’ nearly friction-free surface. Posted November 3 2005

Gold Nanoparticles on Modified Glass Surface as Height Calibration Standard for Atomic Force Microscopy Operating in Contact and Tapping Mode

A standard sample of gold colloids suitably immobilized on glass has been shown to be suitable for for Atomic Force Microscopy calibration at the nanoscale, operating in Contact Mode (CM) and Tapping Mode (TM), both in air and in fluid. Supporting evidence is provided.

Silicon Nanodots – Studying the Role of Oygen on the Structural and Optoelectronic Properties of Silicon Nanodots Using CASTEP

Using Accelyrs' CASTEP software, researchers studied the role of oxygen on the structural and optoelectronic properties of silicon nanodots. Results provided by the sotware package agreed closely with experimentally determined data.
