Dog Gone Smart Pet Products will debut the world's first-ever completely biodegradable pet bed and crate pad, its innovative new line of Dog Gone Smart™ nanotechnology-based line of collars, leashes, and harnesses, and new Dog Gone Smart™ HorseWear saddle pad at Superzoo, September 14 through 16, booth #1920, Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
"The focus of this year's Superzoo show is on innovation," said Chris Onthank the founding principal of Dog Gone Smart Pet Products. "We are always expanding on applications of the technology to our own pet products line, and are actively seeking co-branding partners to extend our patented technology to new categories."
Dog Gone Smart collars, leashes, harnesses, pet beds, apparel and horse wear use Dog Gone Smart™ nanotechnology. This certified nanotechnology is impregnated into the fabric without altering the fabric texture and feel, producing a non-visible structured textile surface that coat oil, dirt, and liquids cannot stick to. Residue can easily be rinsed off with water or machine washed. The fabric stands up to frequent washing and is highly abrasion resistant. It carries the label "bluesign® approved" which is based on the world's strictest EHS (environment, health and safety) stipulations for textiles and examines all the relevant components from the very beginning of the manufacturing process. Pet products are also bacteriostatic, inhibiting the spread of bacteria that can cause odor.
According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) 2009|2010 National Pet Owners survey, 62 percent of U.S. households own a pet or 71.4 million homes – now a $50 billion industry.
"Our world's first-ever completely biodegradable pet bed is made with all-natural and organic materials and every component of the pet bed will begin to breakdown or decompose in the appropriate composting environment in 120 days," Onthank added. The Green bed is available in three colors: mushroom, sage, and green apple. The Green bed is MSRP priced from $132.95 for the 24"x32", $168.95 for the $28"x38", and $221.95 for the 34"x46".
