Pacific Fuel Cell Corp. has announced the opening of a 24,000 square foot plant in Willoughby, Ohio to produce fuel cell components. Initial production of bipolar plates is scheduled to begin shortly.
The first two press machines, including an 800 ton compression press machine, have been installed and are being tuned up. Initial orders are waiting to be filled.
George Suzuki, president of PFCE said: “PFCE’s Ohio Plant will be configured to produce $100 million worth of business, starting with bipolar plate production. We plan to leverage our six year presence in the industry and our newly acquired capability of providing high temperature bipolar plates using licensed technology developed by SGL to become a major force in the alternative energy sector. Many of our bipolar plate customers are also prospects for our nanoMEA. We will be very busy ramping up our Ohio Plant this year.”
