Recent winner of the 2007 Queens Award for Enterprise, INCADryCool has always excelled in high quality accurate quantitative nanoanalysis. Following in this tradition, Oxford Instruments Analytical are pleased to announce that from the end of July 2007, all new INCADryCools ordered will contain an upgraded 30mm2 crystal as standard.
Collection efficiency of the X-ray detector is an important parameter in EDS analysis on a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) since it determines the rate of signal acquisition. The larger crystal size in the new 30mm2 INCADryCool detector results in an increase in solid angle of collection compared to the original 10mm2 detector. The main benefits to the user of this new detector are:
- Larger Solid Angle
- Increased Collection Efficiency
- Decreased Counting Time
- Detection down to and including Beryllium
Designed to meet the requirements of the semi-conductor industry, INCADryCool has always surpassed all existing solutions for liquid nitrogen-free X-ray detection, offering both convenience and results the user can rely on. INCADryCool is cooled using a unique, patented, pulse tube cooling system, and integrates seamlessly with the INCAEnergy EDS platform. It offers excellent sensitivity and resolution at low energy with a small footprint ideally suited to semiconductor or FAB integration.
Low maintenance design ensures maximum system ‘up-time’ whilst the unique, patented tunable frequency of the actively damped compressor ensures no image degradation at high operating magnifications.
The new 30mm2 crystal in the INCADryCool system generates new opportunities for accurate quantitative LN2-free nanoanalysis in the SEM.
