NanoDynamics, Inc. announced today that Mario Resca has accepted the role as the company’s first independent senior advisor. Resca currently serves on the board of directors at Eni S.p.A., a major worldwide integrated energy company operating in the oil and gas, electricity generation and sale, petrochemicals, and oilfield services construction and engineering industries.
Among many notable accomplishments, Resca was awarded the “Cavaliere Del Lavoro” (“Knight of Labour”) honor from the president of the Italian Republic in 2002. La Federazione Nazionale dei Cavalieri del Lavoro (the National Federation of the Knights of Labour) identifies entrepreneurs that have made distinct contributions to the social, technological and economic development of Italian business.

Having served in his role at Eni since 2002, Resca is also chairman of both Italia Zuccheri S.p.A. (formerly Eridania S.p.A.)and Casinò di Campione S.p.A. He additionally serves as a European senior advisor to Oaktree Capital Management’s private equity fund.
Resca has been a national board member of the U.P.A. (the Italian Advertisers' Association) and president of Confimprese, and is a past member of Aspen Italy. He also held a four-year term as chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, and has served on the advisory board of British Telecom Italy.
As an economics graduate from the Bocconi University in Milan, Resca worked for the Chase Manhattan Bank. In 1974 he was appointed director of Saifi Finanziaria (Fiat Group), and from 1976 to 1990 he was managing partner of Egon Zehnder Intl. During this period he was also appointed director of Lancôme Italia and of companies belonging to the Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera Group and Versace Group. From 1990 to 1992 he was president and CEO of Sambonet S.p.A., the leading Italian producer of premier tabletop silver and stainless steel cutlery and tools. He then held roles as chairman and CEO, master franchisee, and J.V. partner and president of McDonald's Development Italia, Inc. from 1995-2007. Resca also served as extraordinary commissioner of Cirio-DelMonte Group from 2003-2007, and has been a recent board director of Mondadori S.p.A.
