American Nano Silicon Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ANNO) ("American Nano" or "the Company"), a leading manufacturer and distributor of Micro-Nano Silicon, a basic raw material for detergents and other applications in the chemical industry, announced today that the Company has entered into a cooperative research and development agreement with Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The agreement states that American Nano and Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS will create a new Ultra Fine Chemistry Research Center, which will concentrate on developing improvements to Micro-Nano Silicon and expanding the use of Micro-Nano Silicon in various industrial fields. In particular, the Research Center will seek to broaden the application of Micro-Nano Silicon ultra fine structured chemicals in the creation of environmentally friendly chemical products.
The 10-year cooperative agreement provides that all research will be conducted on site at the Company's facilities. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement between American Nano and the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS, the Company will provide 500,000 RMB in first year and available laboratory instruments and equipment. The Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS will provide personnel to develop materials and technology that will improve the efficiency of the application of ultra fine chemicals. American Nano will have an exclusive option and right of first refusal to obtain a royalty-bearing license on commercially reasonable terms to the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS's ownership interest in certain intellectual property resulting from the research center's activities.
The cooperation between American Nano and the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS will accelerate technological innovation by attracting outstanding scientific talent and enabling wider cooperation between American Nano and other Chinese research communities. According to the cooperative agreement, the collaboration will focus on areas of:
- Development of ultra fine crystal structured chemicals in various industrial fields
- Environmentally friendly chemical products
- Research and development of ultra fine chemical products
- Development and application of innovative construction materials
