Nordson ASYMTEK, a leader in dispensing, coating, and jetting technologies, announces it has received the 2010 Corporate Recognition Award from IMAPS (The International Microelectronics And Packaging Society).
The award recognizes significant technical contributions to the microelectronics industry, demonstrated support to IMAPS by continuous organization memberships, and promotion of member participation in IMAPS-supported activities and events. The award was presented at a ceremony held during the IMAPS conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, earlier this month.
Nordson ASYMTEK was nominated for the award because it is a leader in the field of dispensing fluids for electronic component assembly. The nomination cited, “Nordson ASYMTEK consistently introduces new technology to enable better use of electronic materials. They introduced jet dispensing of fluids, such as underfill for flip chips.” The company holds numerous patents in precision dispensing, coating technology, and process controls. In 25 years Nordson ASYMTEK has grown from a small start-up to a leader who is ranked as one of the top companies in its field.
“Nordson ASYMTEK is honored to be recognized by this well-established industry organization," said John Byers, president, Nordson ASYMTEK. "We look forward to many more years of collaboration."
In addition to its technology, Nordson ASYMTEK was recognized for its 14 years as a corporate member of IMAPS. Through its parent company, Nordson Corporation, money has been donated to support IMAPS Foundation activities. Employees are sponsored for IMAPS memberships and Nordson ASYMTEK personnel regularly contribute and present papers at IMAPS conferences and workshops. In 2004, Alec Babiarz, one of the founders of ASYMTEK, was the keynote speaker at the IMAPS Symposium in Long Beach, CA. Steve Adamson, Nordson ASYMTEK market specialist, served as IMAPS president in 2008 and recently received its prestigious President's Award.
