Nanosolar, a provider of thin film solar cells and panels, recently signed long-time supply contracts with Belectric of Kolitzheim, Germany, Plain Energy of Munich, Germany and EDF Energies Nouvelles of Paris, France for up to 1GW of its Utility Panel.
The partners will deploy the cost-effective Nanosolar Utility Panel to enhance production of their solar power plants. Each contract ranges from three to six years, and could be for supply of one gigawatt modules,
The company combines nanotechnology with design and production processes to lower overall costs. Its efficient CIGS platform combined with the in house printing methodology will help Nanosolar to become the manufacturer of cheapest panels resulting in megawatts production.
The company’s roll-to-roll printing technique helps reduce capital spending and increase throughput, helps provide cost efficient energy to the end user. The panel design with low component count for generation and installation will ensure cost-efficiency
