ChemRisk has recently inaugurated three Centers of Excellence to target risk assessment and management services across the globe. These include the Center for Product Sustainability, the Center for Occupational Health and Safety Sciences and the Center for Nanotechnology.
John L. Henshaw, senior vice president and managing principal for the ChemRisk Industrial Hygiene and Safety group says that these centers will focus on addressing both the existing and future concerns regarding the effect of chemicals, work environments and consumer goods on human wellbeing and the environment.
Each of the centers will offer access to specialists in the field who are committed to understanding the issues and offer technology-based solutions. The centers will additionally encourage cross-disciplinary association and help in discovering essential risk assessment and exposure techniques. These techniques include Chemical Footprinting, expert assessment of products and technologies and analyzing and addressing health risks at the workplace.
The Center for Product Sustainability, under the leadership of Julie Panko, principal health scientist, will enable customers to design and manufacture devices that benefit the triple bottom-line of planet, people and prosperity. The Center for Nanotechnology, led by Amy Madl, senior principal health scientist, will analyze and understand the effect of nanomaterials and nano-based solutions to enhance societal advantages of these solutions while reducing risk to people and the environment. The Center for Occupational Health and Safety Sciences, guided by Henshaw, will offer exposure analysis and risk control to safeguard both workers and local communities.
