MunEDA has declared that the company’s WiCkeD circuit analysis software was incorporated by TSMC for its TSMC AMS (analog/mixed-signal) Reference Flow 2.0, an important component of TSMC's 28-nm design process.
The WiCkeD software encompasses an extensive range of vital modules in automatic and interactive specification-oriented tailor circuit design with statistical analysis of circuits. Manual circuit designing in cell migration and IP porting can be automated by the WiCkeD software to optimize the efficiency of the designers.
The combination of TSMC process techniques and MunEDA WiCkeD software allows designers to enhance circuit design strength against parametric process variation, enhance area, power and performance needs and improve effectiveness to shorten design time.
The WiCkeD software assists the circuit designers to tackle AMS circuit design issues in sub-100 nm designs caused by more on-chip variation, less headroom, lower core voltages as well as other issues that can affect the output, power and performance of critical circuits.
According to Suk Lee, who serves as TSMC’s Director of Design Infrastructure Marketing, the worst-case analysis and sensitivity methodologies of WiCkeD offer more advantages to designers who use TSMC 28-nm process technology. The company is happy about the partnership with MunEDA for statistical circuit analysis.
