Report Linker has added a new report, Thin Film Solar PV Manufacturing Equipment Worldwide, to its offerings.
The key chapters covered in this report include emergence and expansion of the global thin film PV industry, overview of thin film PV manufacturing technologies and equipment, market trends and factors for thin film PV manufacturing equipment, and markets for thin film PV manufacturing equipment.
According to this report, in the past five years, the global solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing industry was expanded with 38.2 GW manufacturing capacity. Out of this almost 7.5GW or 20% of capacity was utilized for the manufacture of thin film solar photovoltaic (TFPV) technologies.
The report reveals that the useful investment made by the global industry was for the supply chain of c-Si PV technology that includes wafers, ingots, cells, modules, and silicon feedstocks. The c-Si PV cells’ total manufacturing capacity is four times greater than all TFPV technologies. The present market share contributed by c-Si PV modules is more than 80%. The remaining share is contributed by CdTe TFPV module production. The increased market for TFPV production devices was due to the expansion of CdTe TFPV module production by First Solar as well as increased investment in thin film silicon PV technologies.
The report says that the advancement in TFPV PV technologies has forced the industry to invest more capital in TFPV production devices. TFPV technologies will try to grasp the market shares of PV industry investment with respect to their own strengths in performance and manufacturing capability.
