Industrial Nanotech, a pioneer in nanoscience-based energy conserving solutions, declared that it has commenced supply of 2,973 gallons of its patented Nansulate Translucent PT insulation and corrosion control coating to Montaco, an industrial contractor.
Montaco will coat fuel oil storage tanks installed at the Porto refinery in Portugal using the Nansulate coating starting from late August 2011 to September 2011. This sales order is worth $225,800. Galp Energia-owned Porto refinery is also called as Matosinhos refinery.
Industrial Nanotech’s Vice President of Business Development, Francesca Crolley stated that this is the company’s second order at the Matosinhos refinery where it completed an order for its first project in 2010 to insulate an oil pipeline for corrosion control. This new order will be utilized to insulate and safeguard critical fuel oil storage tanks, he said. Due to these two projects at the Porto refinery, the company has now obtained calls for biofuel and refinery projects, including one for 6000 m2 fuel storage tanks and another one for a 185,000 m3 bunkering terminal, he added.
Crolley further said that Nansulate coating technology is an innovative insulation with superior thermal resistance characteristics, corrosion control, moisture and ultraviolet resistance. It is an ideal solution for all types of refineries, from gas and oil to biodiesel and biofuel, to decrease energy expenditures, while also reducing equipment maintenance costs, he said.
