HiSilicon Technologies, a company specializing in semiconductor designs for consumer electronics and communication industries, has become the licensee of eSilicon’s 40 nm silicon-proven ternary content-addressable memory (TCAM) macros for use in its future-generation, superior-performance network-application ASICs.
HiSilicon is recognized for its end-to-end benefits in wireless terminals, digital media, wireless and fixed network. The company offers an entire range of SoCs and solutions for the digital media arena, including smart phones, surveillance, IPTV and DVB.
eSilicon offers a broad array of high-density, superior-performance, feature-rich, silicon-proven embedded CAM compilers. The company's embedded TCAM macros called eFlexCAM macros have been used by networking companies for more than a decade in order to fulfill its requirement for high-bandwidth delivery, access control lists and wire-speed packet processing. Its eFlexCAM compilers offer economical, high-efficiency solutions for ATM switches, Ethernet, classifications, quality of service (QoS) services, cache for network processors, network search engines and other networking applications.
For the 40 nm TCAM, silicon-proven search speeds surpass 740 MSPS, while search speeds have been made to surpass 850 MSPS for the 28 nm TCAM. eSilicon’s Vice President of Asia sales, Davis Wang stated that as a long-term strategic partner, HiSilicon is working on advanced high-performance chips that help the company to work on the advancement of next-generation TCAMs. The company’s capability to tailor IP makes its customers to focus on area, performance, power and output for their applications, he said. Its IP solutions are capable of offering unique semiconductor IP to the application-specific integrated circuit community, he added.
