nCoat, Inc., has announced through its subsidiary High Performance Coatings, Inc. (HPC), a new customer relationship with S&S Headers in Glendale, Arizona, for coating production performance headers.
A major player in the "on-street" and "off-street" custom header market, S&S specifies HPC's H05 coating exclusively on their performance headers as part of an add-option for their customers' orders. S&S manufactures a large and diverse line of headers and uses HPC coatings to provide a superior finish, add performance, and protect from corrosion.
S&S Headers Company President Loren Barnes stated, "We have had excellent success with HPC coating on our products, and the turnaround time is very fast."
"HPC offers custom engineered coatings services to high volume customers in both the aftermarket and OEM sales channels for performance parts in the automotive and motorsports industries," said Paul Clayson, CEO of nCoat, parent company of HPC. "As a leader in their market space, S&S produces a significant volume of headers annually. They are squarely in the sweet spot size of our bread and butter customer base."
HPC OEM (original equipment manufacturing) services provide custom quoted coatings services specific to the customer needs. Typically, these services are offered to high volume manufacturers. These accounts are business-to-business sales with established monthly volumes. nCoat, HPC's parent entity, has consolidated revenues of approximately $6 million annually in OEM accounts through its operating subsidiaries, HPC and JET-HOT.
HPC's H05 coating allows S&S headers to maintain a uniform temperature over the entire area of the underlying material, while retaining a brilliant finish. When the coatings are used in these high temperature exhaust gas path applications, the temperature in the tube is maintained uniformly throughout the pipe, decreasing the low air density, and increasing engine efficiencies.
HPC's "H" series coatings are durable and functional with a high level of malleability and excellent adhesion. H01 and H05 have a low emissivity for reducing the absorbance of infrared thermal energy allowing the coatings to cool more quickly than the substrate.
