Rasco, an auxiliary company of Cohu that specializes in MEMS testing and test handling devices, declared the launch of two next-generation MEMS products, the Acoustic Test Unit (ATU) and the Pressure Test Unit (PTU).
The Director of Engineering at Rasco, Alfred Langer, stated that the addition of two adaptable, high parallelism units such as the PTU and ATU leads to the expansion of the product portfolio and aims to lower the cost requirements for testing MEMS equipment. He added that the modular structure offers rapid and simple integration on pick and place, test-in-strip, or gravity-feed handlers to test up to 32 MEMS equipment in parallel.
The ATU offers a high parallelism solution to test audio equipment used in a range of automotive and consumer electronics applications. The PTU can be used for high precision testing the integrated pressure sensors available in the automotive industry. The company offers next-generation MEMS test units that feature solutions for optical, temperature and magnetic sensor equipment.
The company’s MEMS modules will be exhibited at Semicon West 2011. Cohu supplies burn-in, test handling, MEMS test solutions and thermal subsystems for use in the international semiconductor market via its auxiliary companies such as Rasco and Delta Design.
