PolyOne, a world-wide provider of novel polymer materials, solutions and services, has declared that it has bagged the 2011 Ringier Technology Innovation Award for the Plastics Industry for its groundbreaking carbon nanotube formulation called Stat-Tech NT.
The Ringier Technology Innovation Award appreciates the efforts of companies who have contributed significantly for the development of the plastics industry in China by means of market development, economic efficiency, productivity improvement and technical innovation.
A self-governing panel comprising plastics industry specialists have selected the novel carbon nanotube material of PolyOne for the award. The recognition honors the specialized material as an innovative solution that allows clients to enhance their operational efficiency, distinguish their product offerings and make future advancements achievable.
The carbon nanotube material protects electronic equipment from damage caused by static electricity. It enhances the efficacy of the production methods of these electronic goods as well as their quality.
Dr. Willie Chien, who serves as President of Asia at PolyOne, stated that this recognition mirrors the company’s commitment on advancement and its constant growth in Asia. Craig Nikrant, who serves as President of Global Specialty Engineered Materials at PolyOne, commented that the company is proud to earn the award from Ringier. The company anticipates offering the technology throughout the world by the end of 2011, and extending the platform to more base resins in order to expand its product portfolio, he added.
