APIX’s Nano Silicon Gas Chromatography Sensors Win PITTCON 2013 Awards

Analytical Pixels Technology (APIX) was awarded the coveted Bronze Award for ‘Best New Product’ at Pittcon 2013 in Philadelphia for its nano-silicon sensors used in its MAX ONE and GCAP Gas Chromatography Systems.

The Pittcon Editors’ Awards, started in 1996, recognize companies with the most significant and innovative new products at the weeklong conference and exhibition. Editors nominate up to three new products and each nomination is subsequently presented, discussed and voted upon during a private roundtable discussion.

“I was very proud to receive this prestigious award on behalf of the entire APIX team” said Elie Braun, APIX Business Development Director for the United States, “our nano-scale sensing technology is truly innovative and places APIX one technology generation ahead of the competition”

APIX’s cutting edge systems are based on nano-scale silicon components licensed from the CEA-Leti and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). The silicon components are manufactured in Leti’s advanced semiconductor facility in Grenoble, France. The systems are then assembled and tested in APIX’ own facilities in Grenoble, France and Dayton, OH, USA.

APIX introduced two systems at PITTCON 2013 – the flexible architecture GCAP System for labs and complex analysis, and the purpose built, Cat1 Div 2 MAX-ONE System for process monitoring in industrial and petro-chemical applications. Both systems use nano-scale silicon detectors, resulting in faster throughput, smaller sampling size, higher sensitivity, and less maintenance. Both systems are available in sample quantity and will be released for volume production towards the end of 2013.
